Amy Glatz is a very neat young lady who we hired this fall. She is doing all sorts of wonderful things here and has practically become a part of the family. Amy is doing a variety of things to keep this farm going–feeding, watering, and horse training–come rain, snow, wind or shine! Lately Amy has been riding Little Bit who had not been ridden before. She has worked with desentizing her, establishing good ground manners, and saddling and bridling, etc. Amy now has Little Bit going well at the walk and trot and Little Bit is coming along very nicely. Amy has also been riding Caprice who had not been ridden in quite awhile. Caprice is doing great and Amy has been doing a great job of reinforcing Caprice’s smooth singlefoot under saddle. Amy has a gentle touch with the horses, is knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful and extremely reliable. We are so happy to have her!!! The horses (and dogs!) absolutely love her.

We had a lovely Thanksgiving here–with lots of loving family and wonderful food. The horses are doing well so far this year. We have had tremendously warm weather here lately and we are thankful for that–as this time of year can already be quite cold in a typical year! The foals have finally adjusted to being weaned and are much happier now. They are looking fuzzy and cute!! Here is a photos of our beautiful yearling filly, NWMF Fancy Free. This beautiful girl is for sale. She will be two next summer and has great height and size. I think she will mature at about 15.2–maybe more! She has always been tall for her age and continues to grow like a weed. She has a lovely feminine head and is as sweet as can be. She is extremely friendly. Clips, sprays, ties, etc. and is handled often (daily as a baby). We will start doing light training with her in the spring. She has it all and will make someone an awesome friend.

It’s weaning time and the foals are not happy about it! But it is a great opportunity for the them to spend lots of special one on -one- time with their human family!! The buckskin colt is not quite ready to be weaned, but will be soon. The black filly, Midnight is an incredible sweetheart. Very quiet, extremely sweet, and willing to please. The palomino filly, AJ is not a happy filly! She really misses her mom and weaning has really put a crimp in her carefree spirit! She will be back to normal soon though. What lovely foals this year. I am so pleased with them!!!

A few weekends ago, Mike took the horses on a pack trip. Time was very short, so really not enough time to hunt, but he and his friend Jeff Miller, had a great time! And so did the horses by the looks of things…. Beautiful.

Over the past couple of years, we have debated selling Wynnsum Caprice, our very nice gaited black mare. Because we do not have an emphasis on breeding gaited morgans here, we will see if just the right home comes along. Caprice was started as a 3-4 year old and was going very well under saddle. She has had alot of desensitizing work done with her and already has quite a few miles on her–she goes through rivers, over bridges, down the road, etc. and loves to get out. She has a great singlefoot and can really cover some ground. This past spring she had a fantastic black filly who is also for sale. She is a cadillac ride. If you are interested in her, please inquire. She is a lovely mare.

I got some nice photos of Du Prix this summer. The weather wasn’t cooperating, but she was nicely groomed so I took photos any way. Here she is, just a little over two years old. She is really turning into a beauty. She is a nice girl, who loves attention and is well behaved.

I I hope folks enjoy our new blog! It is a new way for me to do updates to the site more often! It seems we always have things going on here and it’s a nice way to keep people up to date!
Our foals are growing like weeds! There are three this year. A palomino filly out of our reining mare, Justin’s Lady Duff (Jazz), a singlefooter black filly out of Wynsumm Caprice, and a big beautiful buckskin colt out of Liz’s Sugar. The foals have a had a great summer playing together. Soon it will be weaning time!!!
We still have our yearling chestnut filly. She is a beauty and will be a nice big mare with a beautiful head. She is a real sweetie and I love her to death.
Bred for next year are Wish, Little Bit, Sassy and Weaver. I am not sure if all the mares “caught”, but we are crossing our fingers.
We had five calves born too! They have all been spoken for and we sure have had fun with them.
